They will probably put them to sleep if they don't know of a place that will take them. They would do that rather than give them to someone they don't feel would take care of them and obey the law. If you are interested in them, I'd get ahold of the USDA rep in your area on Monday morning to offer your assistance. It is possible, the pet store owner is arranging for their well-being. You could talk to him/her to find out what action the USDA would take toward them.
