these are just like kids or any other new pets you bring into the house...a good idea would be to get a smaller cage for the baby and set them next to each other...then when you take them out let them sniff each other to get use to each's scent....gradually they will get together... but if you continue to do as you are the male will hurt the female...he's been the only one for a year and now you've brought a new pet in the same cage....intruding in his territory....be patient...it will work if you do as i say
