Mine don't chew on anything unless it's berry flavored. And when they discover that it's wood, they spit it out! I doubt that you'd have any trouble with its chewing tendencies (or lack thereof).

You said that your flying squirrel "chomp[ed] on furniture furiously". Were you providing adiquate nutrion and chew sticks? How did it die? You need to be prepared to correct these errors before even THINKING about purchasing a glider.
