: : I am concerned about the protein aspect of my gliders diet. When I first got him I was told to give him some baby food with meat in it : : like once a week or so. I have recently learned that some are feeding mealworms. My question is how do they give them to the gliders. : : I have hear they have a shell that has to be removed, so do you cut them up! Or feed them live? Please respond! : FYI: The breeder I bought my glider from NEVER feeds them : mealworms or any other live food. In fact, I didn't realize this untill I called : him up. I had tried to feed it mealworms, and it would bat them away. His reasoning was that : you will never have to worry about disease of any sort coming from live foods. Sounds like : good advice, but I don't know enough about them yet to be sure. Just don't be surprised if your : glider doesn't like worms like I was. : Craig : I work at a pet shop in Florida and we feed mealworms but not live ones. They are refigerated. The gliders really don't seem to like them as much as their fruits and other foods, though. I would go with some other form of protein or protein supplement. : Tara
