: Hello! Our babies came out of the pouch for the first time 15 days ago. I noticed the first one's eyes open and she groweled at me last night. My question is when will they be weaned and start eating and drinking on their own and when can we handle them? Thanks in advance! Robert/Wanda

You asked this question last week . . . I answered you then but you must not have seen the reply. Here is a copy of the message that you posted and my reply to you then.

: Hello, We have a pair of Sugar Gliders and the babys have came out of the pouch
Sunday there are two babies. They both have a little hair on them their eyes are still
closed. We were just wondering at what age can we start handling them? We are new
at this thanks for any advice. Robert/Wanda Slade

It depends on if you plan to keep them or not. I have one that I plan to keep. I began
handling her at 3 days oop. I knew exactly when her eyes would open (10 days oop).
Before her eyes openned i only took her out once or twice a day for 5 -10 minutes at a
time. After her eyes openned I started keeping her out for 15-30 minutes. i never let
my husband or daughter touch her, because she will be my personal pet (more like I
will be her personal person). If you plan to sell your babies, you can wait until the
eyes have opened. Once they get older, share the handling with your spouse and
possibly other people so they will like people and feel safe, but will not bond with
just one person.
Best of Luck and have fun!
