I may be doing this all wrong, but we have had 2 successful litters now, and I handled them right away. In fact when they were even partially out of the pouch, I would pet them and talk to them. Mom never seemed to care. I just take them right out of the nesting box. This litter is about 6 weeks OOP now. Maybe I shouldn't do that, but everyone seems OK with it.
