a couple of things.
How long have you had him ? Bonding sometimes don't come easy and sometimes not for a long time. I have some suggestions that may work for you.. It has worked wonders for others.
1. DON'T hold him, Let him hold you..let him think he is boss glider for a while. EVERY time you place your hands near him have a treat for him, also try putting pudding on your fingers, Mine like banana, Betsys' don't, hers like vanilla, when play time comes around use the bathroom (make sure all holes..drains,etc. are closed up)
It is a smaller area and you should start seeing results sooner. Don't let anyone else near him for awhile till the bonding starts to kick in. (strange sounds, and scents may unsettle him). When you have to catch him use your hands palm down fingers close to the front of his feet. He should walk on your hand on his own. When he does give him a treat. and staying moving a little when he is on you. as for the crabbing.. well he is telling you he is uncomfortable or scared. place his pouch on the door of his cage (inside) so when you open the door you can look right into the pouch and talk to him. Sometimes just open it up to give him treats..Say his name first so he becomes accustomed to your voice..
Make sure he only associated your voice and hands with pleasant things. make note of why he is biting you and avoid those situations. if he is going somewhere he isn't supposed to place a big piece of cardboard between him and the direction. Don't be afraid of him. I know the bite hurts, find other ways to get the same thing accomplished without him having to bite. GOOD LUCK.. Keep us informed as to his progress..
