Oh that's awful, which pet store in Austin does this?
I just went to Zookeeper Pets day before yesterday and they had about 15 - 20 tiny barely weaned gliders in a 2ft. high birdcage. They had no nestbox, just a reptile under the tank heater propped up inside with all the babies crowded underneath. They had bananas and birdseed for them to eat.
Over a year ago, I bought my male sugar glider from this pet store and they seemed to know more then. What happened?

: Sherry,
: I think it's great that you insist on people being informed before getting a SG. The breeder I got mine from spent a lot of time talking to me about why I wanted her and even had me read a particular book - the other side is that I've been in pet stores here in Austin and seen store workers pick them up by their tails :0 and throw them way high in the air and sell them to people like they are toys and not little creatures to be loved. That makes me really sad...so I'm glad to know about people who DO take time to find great homes for their babies!
