I like PVC coated wire because it is easy to clean and there is not the danger of having your SG chew on it and get sick. Also, like Yeve said, there are a lot of different opinions, but I have read that glider's little feet can get raw from running on plain wire after they urinate on it. There are several good cage makers listed in the postings if you scroll down, and many of them are reasonably priced. Shipping can get to be the biggest expense, so maybe try to find someone close to you.
