Todd, Your glider is probably just cleaning himself. If you look at the back feet, two of the toes are fused together to make a "comb." They use these toes to scratch out dust, dirt, etc. and then lick the toes clean and then start all over. Eos does this routinely - several times a day. I'm sure there are things that could make him itch (fleas, irritation from something you have on your hands when you pick him up), but unless he is scratching excessively or you can find something wrong, I'd assume it was his normal grooming routine. :) Tiffany : I just got my sugar glider about a week ago. I don't know if I am just over worried about him, but he seems to scratch a lot when he is out of his sleeping bag. He may just be cleaning himself, but he does it a lot. The people I bought him from had 2 dogs, but when I hold him and check him for fleas there is nothing. Does anyone know if there are any safe flea & tick repellants??
