: I have had my glider a little over a week now and he has really warmed up to me. But... when I take him out at night, all he wants to do is crawl off of me and run around the room. He will not stay on me- and after a while, he will come back onto my hand when I extend it toward him. Does this sound normal or do you think he is still kind of scarred of me??

Todd,
This is normal from my perspective. Gliders are very inquisitive and playful - when he returns to you, that is a really good sign that he is "checking in," in other words, bonding to you. Be really careful to glider proof your room where he is roaming free. It is amazing how many places they can find to hide that you would never think of as a problem. Also, if you want to train him to go back into your pocket, when he jumps off of you during the day time, gently pick him back up and put him back into the pocket. Usually they will then curl up and go back to sleep.
Take care and good luck with bonding!
Tiffany
