Subject: Any tips on building a cage?
Posted by Scott Runnels on September 06, 1999 at 11:22:40:

I plan to head out to a hardware store and get started on setting up a cage for my glider. I'm getting welded wire sheets, and plan to make it 2 feet deep, 2 feet wide, and three feet high. I have a question. What's best for holding the cage panels together. I was thinking maybe just some C-Clips but wanted to know if there was a better item for it? Also, I was thinking about making the top removable, instead of a side latch. I'd have it anchored down with removable clips? Do any of you see a problem with this?

For the setup, I'll have the pouch She grew up in as a bed/house. I plan to find a tree branch for her climb on, possible more than one, but I don't want it too cluttered for her. What kind of branch is the best? Can you get them at pet shops? If not whats he best place? I plan to have a pan under the cage, filled with wood chips, so it will make cleaning easy. I plan to give her a wheel, and I was thinking I might string up thick rope in the cage for her to climb and play on. Will any of this bother her? I haven't heard anything about rope, and I plan to make it thick so she can't swallow it. Any tips would be most appreciated.

Thanks,

Scott Runnels
