Here is what we do at our home. We mix any dish washing liquid that has a lemon scent, even lemon scented Mr Clean works, and an equal amount of white vinegar to repel these creepy things from our kitchen, especially washing down the counter tops daily with this. You can keep this in a spray bottle right next to your sink. We keep an old dishcloth to use to wipe down window sills, cabinet doors and other woodwork. A couple leaves of bayleaf and a couple kernals of cloves helps keep insects and mice from your cupboard shelves. Especially under the sink. : ACK! Does this Citronella help with fruit flies that won't leave simple house plants alone?? I am going CRAZY here. This little &*@#^% flies! :) I'm about to go out and buy some FLEA BOMBS and see if *that will get rid of these things! : : : : I'm with you Betsy - I can't get over the idea of it being a fly. It is hard enough to forget about her eating crickets. Flies I just can't do. : : : : : I have a new topic about bugs. We all (at least most of us) feed meal worms to our gliders. I was asking my vet yesterday about their fat content. He said they do appear to be high in fat. Why not check into Fruit Flies. I cringed. FRUIT FLIES! I already have them buzzing around my kitchen, no thank you! He tells me that there is a new kind of fruit fly now. It is a huge wingless thing. It is getting rave reviews for reptiles. He said they are meaty and not fattening and added that they are very easy to raise yourself (no thank you again).
