: She could be crying from hunger, fear, hurt, any of the reasons a human baby cries. Your best bet is to pick her up and try to feed her something insanely sweet, like honey on your finger tip. This will help identify if its hunger as well as forge a bond. You will become associated with something good. How long has she been seperated from her family? Was she a pet store purchase and how long ago? Is she eating anything? Is she drinking? Are you calling the cranking ratcheting sound a cry or is it the bark? Or perhaps the little breathy sound that sounds like you are puffy air out of your lips?
