I'm a school teacher who has used Grubco mealworms for years.
In fact, I kept my last culture going in the classroom for three
years stemming from one original order. I kept them in a
plastic shoe box with any and all kinds of stale breakfast
cereal. Occasionally I'd drop in a small amount of fresh
vegetation, eg apple core. I did not refrigerate the
culture, thereby allowing them to reproduce.
