: Alright, everyone who has given me advice on getting my young male glider a friend has unanimously decided I should. I have, too, especially since I'm in HS and work and have other pets. He needs a bud! Now-- male or female? I found a vet but my mom seems to think that taking a glider to the vet is ludicrous (she's one of those types that just doesn't understand, you know?) and she doesn't agree with getting Jonesy neutered so I can get a female. However, I'm afraid to get another male and have them fight for dominance. I'm also fearful about letting a vet I don't really know do this procedure on my little guy. Suggestions anyone? : )

Amy...you seem like a very responsible and mature pet owner for your age..aspects of a young person's personality which seem
very rare these days, you are to be commended. However..please dont take offense to this, but you may be better off holding out for
a while in getting another glider. If you have a male glider, and are looking for a "friend" you really are better off to get a female.
Like you've discovered in your research, male gliders are very territorial, and will fight, sometimes even to death, which Im sure you wouldnt want.
But on the other hand, if you mother is unwilling to have your glider de-sexed, then you can very asured you will end up with babies before long with a
female friend. So that's something you have to decide yourself. Also a passing thought, remember that gliders are very expensive pets to keep, and often
need medical treatments which run into the hundreds of dollars.
Well..goodluck whith whatever you decide Amy :)
