My ceiling fan was not just turned off, it couldn't be turned on. My gliders learned to jump to the string that actually would have turned on the fan. Other than that, make sure the fan doesn't have holes in the top so that the gliders could make it their home, and dust the top. I disagree with the never leaving your gliders unsupervised. Just make sure the room is completely safe before you do it and always make sure you can find them easily. The biggest danger of a room made safe for the glider is you leaving the door or window open and having them end up in trouble elsewhere. One of my gliders knew what the top of a tree looked like long before he knew what the inside of a cage looked like. Two others only spent a couple nights initially in a cage. Now they have a huge cage because I travel alot (and need to have others come in to take care of them), but when I'm home, they're free to roam -- at least in one room. They just seem like they enjoy it too much for me to have the heart to confine them when not necessary. Read Bourbon's and Clara's pages for some ideas. Anyone else out there with glider-proofing pages? -Tom -Tom
