Subject: adopt an orphan?

I'm trying to get a female friend for my hopefully soon to be neutered male. I can only find 1 store on LI that has gliders and I don't trust them. I've been told that also I'd be happier getting another glider from a breeder.I agree, However, nobody around here breeds them. I'd at least have to drive 5 hours to Buffalo, I think. Since NYC recently banned gliders and other exotics, I'm sure there are many orphans out there somewhere. I'm on LI and they're legal here. How do you guys think it would be to adopt if I could? Would an orphaned glider be likely to bond? I've had my adopted glider for 3 weeks. He went through at least 4 homes before landing permanent residence with me through adoption. He bonded within days and I was amazed. However, I feel I got lucky with him-VERY LUCKY! Did I? How about that adoption idea?
