If you look on its belly, there will be a vertical slit if it's a girl, and if it's a boy it will have a little "pom-pom" looking thing that is his scrotum; no vertical line. :)
As for entertainment, it depends on how much time you plan on spending with it. If you don't have a lot, put more stuff in, i.e. branches, ropes, small bird toys that are all natural and safe for exotic animals.
Most branches are sandblasted, but check GliderBuffet.net to a list of safe and unsafe plants for the little darlings. :)
Sleeping arrangements, get a pouch! They are sold in most pet stores, but if you don't find a style you like, you can email us, we know someone who can make really nice ones.
