On a past post regarding pasta, Stacy, pasta is high in oils as Melinda had said, it is also Very haigh in Phosporus, Phosporus controls the calcium intake, too much phosporus restricts their bodies from accepting the calcium. A much needed ingredient for their bones and muscles. however; As you had said as a treat.. let me reitterate this as much as possible. TREAT meaning it is given once in a great while, Mine I feed spagetti noodles, rice, as well as lasagna, mac and cheese.. BUT.. i only give them a TINY TINY bit, and definitly not too often, with the mac and cheese you must watch the cheese , due to the galactose. but also because of the high fats.. Gliders can not digest fats.. As far as the sunflower seeds, well the seeds and nuts that were once acceptable, have been found to cause many intestional problems in gliders, Their intestines are only the size of 14-16 guage wire, so look at your cage wire and figure at it widest spots, that is the max room they have to digest them. ANYthing (almost) is fine in moderation, once in a great while treats. Tiny tastes of different foods.. ABSOLUTLY no Chocolates, and remember they don't digest fats.. many of us have modified our diets so they are heathier for our gliders. on this page is some dietary links, it will help you in your own search for healthy..
