I tried the Wodent wheel idea with the sandpaper and Skipper
refused to get in it and run....I went to the pet store and
bought a concrete ? bird perch and placed it outside his
hutch. This way, he wouldn't have a choice but to set out
onto the perch before running around the cage.

The first two days, Skipper wasn't to keen on the idea but
now he doesn't mind at all. The perch has kept his nails trimmed
so that I don't have to use clippers. I don't remove it from the
cage unless it needs to be cleaned. He isn't on it long enough
that it bothers his peds.
