: As many of you know I have been trying to introduce my gliders for a couple months now. It was suggested I get a new, bigger cage so Harley (M) wouldn't be so territorial. Last night I got the cage. I put all of Kayce's (F) things in there. I put her in the cage last night (she was in HEAVEN) and let her stay there. Harley stayed in his usual cage in our room. I took her out last night while they were still asleep. He did not see her at all last night and rather than put her in with him to sleep today, I left them seperated. My plans tonight/today are to take everything out of Harley's cage, wash it really well and put it in the big cage. I then was going to try to put Harley in the big cage tonight. Does this sound ok? My goal was to let Kayce in cage first so she could sent it. Should I wait a couple more days? Your suggestions would be soooo very helpful. I am grasping at straws and want this union to work. Thank You!!!
When I introduced my gliders I was so afraid of what might happen, but they seemed to work it out themselves! I placed their cages side by side for about a week so they could see and hear each other, and i traded their sleeping pouches a few times so they would be used to each others scent. When they did meet it was an accident--my female slipped out of her cage when I was feeding the male and jumped right into his cage! Even though she was in his cage and was still smaller than he was, she was really bossy and put him in his place. I did see her nip him a few times, but never drew blood. I watched them for a few hours to make sure no one got hurt. Right away they both ate from the same dish, and slept in the same nest so I let them be. They are now inseperable. Does this help at all? Hope I'm not just rambling...
