Subject: Hind-leg paralysis... sort of

My glider is a little over a year old and she is happy, well-adjusted, and in great shape. I know about hind-leg paralysis and have always been extremely careful about giving her plenty of calcium in her already well-balanced diet, and protein. She eats mealworms occasionally and a piece of a special meat and calcium based cat food as a once-in-a-while treat.

Due to being out of town for a few days, I left her with my mom and dad. The room she was in was cool (65?) and a little drafty, but she had a heat rock with a bunch of polar fleece to keep warm when sleeping. Since I got her yesterday she has been sneezing a couple of times an hour AND I notice that her back legs are not doing their job.
They work, and it doesn't act like the sudden HLP I've heard about, but she has begun falling when she is out, which she has never done. She can't hang on with her back feet. She can use them well enough, she just can't grasp with them. She has a wire coated cage and doesn't even hang on to the cage with her back feet, she only walks with them and hangs on with the front. Any suggestions?

Also, a local pet store owner is a friend of mine. He was recently nailed for nursing a debilitated monkey back to health by the local game commission. Even though everything online says that gliders are legal here (PA) he said he would strongly recommend that I not take her to the vet because that's who turned him in to the game commission and they have a history of confiscating first, asking questions later. Any and all advice would be appreciated. HELP????
