: This is going to be my first glider and I'm building an rather large enclosure. I want to know what woods, barks, or plants that are bad for them. I also need to know just good advice for a beginner and anything that you think that could help me care for these little guys the best. I would love to get anything back. Thanks for your time... :)

I'd just like to say, read, read, read... And don't be afraid to ask q's no matter how lame they might seem. Where your gliders are concerned there are no lame q's! The first Q I asked myself was, how do I deal with having 4 cats and a glider? Answer, well I let each cat smell the glider poo and the cat that was most interested became the cat to most worry about. Only 1 out of 4 is good. Still, the gliders are in the bedroom and the cats are not. Granted, I love our cats and our gliders but things are things. So cats and gliders don't hang together. We've had our gliders for only4 months so we are true, new glider friends and believe me the boards are the best for responding to Q's. Just remember, patience and love at all times. There will be times when you may ask yourself " why did I get myself into this", just remember you love these guys! Any baby animal even humans need a lot of care early on and gliders need it a lot always. It is a commitment for about 15 years. Good luck! Glider love and nibbles, Diana
