: I have one male sugar glider who is about 8 months old. I am able to get him out usually 2 hours in the evening and one in the morning (even though about only an hour total is spent on me). Is this enough time? He seems to have odd mood changes where one day he is really frisky and another he is sullen, other than that he seems healthy. Is it because he needs a friend? is this normal? I don't want babies, so would it be alright to get another male?

sounds just the way mine acted, mood swings and all. I just last week got him a four month old female and his mood swung up!!! he was all over his cage looking into hers next to his. i swithched pouches after she got used to being here, then a few days latter I swithched their cages so they could get used to each others scents. today i put them together and they were all over each other. I'm not ready to put them in the same cage yet. I would get your guy a friend, get him nuetered,(if you don't want babies and a male doesn't work out) you'll need 2 cages and feeding stations for a week to month or so till they get used to each other. most little guys i've discovered are bought in pairs to decrease lonliness.god didn't intend for us to be locked up in cages by our selves. he made us in pairs!!!!!!
