Ok, yes, this may sound silly, but my little Foster never enjoyed gliding. He just really never got the hang of it, and therefore I could take him in public with me all of the time and he would ride around in my shirt collar with his little head poking out of my shirt, watching the world go by but perfectly content where he was.
With my Tilly, on the other hand, I was anxious to get her gliding. I finally did, and now I can't take her anywhere with me. She is very bonded and very loyal, but also at times a devil in disguise. I can't take her out anywhere because she is too likely to book to the nearest bed, couch, table, or whatever interests her.

I would never recommend stifling a glider's nature, but if yours doesn't figure it out it could be a blessing in disguise.

If you do want it to glide, this is how I taught Tilly: Make sure you wait until your glider trusts you (will come to you on it's own and stays with you at least) or your training will become trauma. Then you can try getting a big smooshy pillow, putting a favorite treat on it, and letting your glider fall onto the pillow from about a foot above. You can increase the height little by little, but not too high of course. Tilly figured it out right away. Definitely read your baby's cues, though... if he seems to be frightened, don't force it. Tilly loved it. She thought she was going for a ride... gliding is the greatest thing she ever did. Best of luck!
