First of all, make sure you can care for this glider for the next 15 years before getting it. Second of all, it isn't wise to get one for Christmas, maybe wait a little longer and spend more time researching. They're a huge responsibility. If you can't spend enough time with the glider then you would need to get it a friend, but what would be the purpose of getting a glider if you dont spend time with it? They do wake up during the day but usually dont stay awake very long. MY gliders dont mind being woken up, they just hop in my shirt and go back to sleep. Gliders that aren't bonded will crab and some are vicious when you wake them. Do they bite? Well, do they have teeth??
