: I'm just learing all I can about gliders because I'm plannin gon purchasing one for christmas.I recently read that gliders do better in packs or with a mate, but if I'm only getting one, will this be bad for him/her or will it be fine alone by itself. And are the animals ever awake during the day, and if so asleep do they mind be woken up. Do they bite???

I think it is great that you are researching before you get one. I had a single male for about a year before I got him a mate and he was ok, but I think he really appreciates her company now! They are really great pets, but they do require a lot of work. Sometimes mine are awake during the day, but they usually sleep all day and wake up at night. My female is usually awake about an hour before my male, but he stays up later than she does. Mine also go right back to sleep either in their pouch or my shirt if I wake them up during the day, but they don't seem to mind. You can probably expect to be bitten when you first get one, but if you get a young glider it doensn't hurt all that bad, but if you get an adult it will hurt! I hope you enjoy your baby!
