WELL, most rescues (as well as individuals who do rescues) do charge a fee for the adoption. If there was no fee then how would the rescues keep happening???? What you need to think about is that most rescues work on donations..and when they get a glider in they are putting money into caring for that gliders...thus it is only fair to charge an adoption fee to cover expenses and to keep the rescue going.
As for pet stores, well you get what you pay for...I personally would rather see people purchase gliders from reputable breeders who dedicate time with their gliders than pet stores that are looking just to make a quick buck...
just my 2 cents.......

: I am still searching for a male glider to adopt. I am willing to drive to pick up, but prefer it to be within 6 hours one way of Knoxville, Tenn. I am not looking for a glider to adopt if a fee is charged...that is not an adoption, that is a sale. I want to rescue one needing a home, I can purchase at a store if that was my goal. Thanks, Please email me if you have a glider in need of a home. Sharon
