Subject: Probably got in over my head.....

Hello, I just found this message board. I've read most of the posts and thought I'd introduce myself and ask for help.
Some people I know "rescued" a trio of mostly starved and neglected sugar gliders. The people who "rescued" them knew absolutely nothing about gliders. They were keeping them in a 10 gallon aquarium with pine shavings and feeding them only banannas and oranges. I decided that I just couldn't leave them in that situation...so althougth it wasn't my intention...I now have a three glider family...
I've been reading everything I can get my hands on to try to provide proper care, food and housing for them.
Knowing the situation that they were rescused from, I doubt that they were ever bonded with people. They'll probably be having babies eventually. After reading about neutering...I plan to have the male neutered (when I can afford it).
The three sugar gliders smell more than I dreamed they would. Any ideas to try and help with the odor?
I'm really concerned with calcium levels.... giving enough and yet not too much. I'm also concerned with dealing with the babies that are sure to come.
I'll be keeping up with the posts with interest. It'll be great to have first hand info from people who've been there...
Thanks
