It's great to meet you. I am a new glider owner and hope tto be a great pet to my pet. I have a sheltie who is 13 years old, and several fish tanks. I am retired form the Navy and now stay at home to care for my two children 7 and 4. Life is great although my husband isn't thrilled about the glider yet. : Shell you know he isn't.. hehehe : Anyway, I am well lets say up there in age, I have had gliders for 3 years. I have worked with rescues, and finding good homes for hard to place gliders. I am an advocate for research and for gliders. I love the species, and sometimes seem, a little .. okay a lot .. lol opinionated sometimes. It is for the love of the species though. I research as much as possible and work with others in taming and bonding. I am webmaster of a page that was put together by a lot of great people for new and want to be new owners. I probably get the most irratated, at people sugar coating the ownership of gliders as pet, without them mentioning the downsides, and the time and work involved. Myself and several others, worked together to get a vet to research gliders thoughly, so we had one close. Thank god she adores them. At this time we have 5 total in the home, Baybe and Smokey, 2 un-named joeys, and my daughter has Aphrodite (DyTee for short). We are very big into them, and they are all AE (Amereican Express.. never leave home without them). I also work with a group of people that researchs anything and everything regarding gliders. My hubby, also is very active in the gliders lives, both ours and the other people we work with. I live in TN, with my hubby, youngest daughter(16) and grand-daughter (8)(my clone) so watch out. My Grand-daughter also learns as much as she can about gliders and each year takes them to her class, and talks and answers questions about them, including the downsides.
