was about 6 weeks when I had to take him from his mom, he was just learning how to eat solids but I hadn't seen him try anything other than a grape. I ended up having to try and wean him myself. If Pinky is 17 days OOP then you need not give her any solid foods to try until around 45 days(this is when they start weaning). Even if she did manage to eat a little of something solid I ddnt think her system could handle it this eary. This is the hardest part IMO because the mother and other gliders can show the joey what to eat, but with a human the joey cannot emulate what you do and what you are trying to teach it to eat. You basically have to teach this joey what is safe and not safe to eat and I wasn't very successful(but then again my Sage had other probs). If I was you I'd get some Marsupial Milk Replacer from Clara Click here. Also, a little later at around weaning time maybe try some Vanilla Ensure. This was suggested to me by Clara, and at first Sage hated it but he loved it after a few days and it seemed to 'pick him up' and help him gain back his weight. I'll take the rest of this up in email if it's easier for you.
