Well, the best thing you can do is find out what the breeder you are getting your gliders from is feeding them. Then make sure it is a balanced diet. Diet should be 75/25. 25% protein 75% veggies and fruit! There are many different diets that people use for their gliders. Some owners use Brisky's Accu-feed, which is a commercial glider diet, and is used as an exclusive diet (except for an occassional treat). However some gliders don't like Brisky's.
As for best diet, that's going to depend on what you feel is the best and what your glider will eat.....
