: Im still not sure if I am going to get a glider (as much as I want one) I hear so many negative things about them. I have been told that they die rather eaily. If i do get one I am planning to build a cage that is 5x5' and 5 1/2' tall. I hope that they will enjoy something that size. Now the thing I wanted to ask is if any of you knew what makes better companion pets for just one person....Flying squirrels or : Gliders... There is close to no information on FS's as pets but I know a breeder north of where I live. Oh and thanks to everyone thats been responding to my rather long questions. I need as much info as I can get. : -Dina :Because gliders come from a pouch and live in a family group, they are very likely to bond with you and be a better companion. Like any other squirrel, the flying sq. will leave you at the drop of a hat if they find a mate. Gliders will remember you, Squirrels will not. Also, get two gliders, if you do not spend at least 5hrs. a day with your glider, they CAN (proven fact) die from lonliness.
