Subject: Update on Jammie and Thanks Posted by Debra on December 18, 1999 at 08:28:26 from 216.140.156.187
Thanks to everyone who e-mailed with ideas and concern for Jammie..(the tame glider turned aggressive) Someone suggested that my hands were the problem since i had to grab her, to keep a new cat in the house from snacking on her, you were right. In any case I am now able to put my hand in the cage and she will come over slowly and smell in and climb up on it. She is still cautious but we are making improvements. Thanks to you all I was sure getting worried. I am glad you opened a discussion on galvanized wire vs coated wire. I have been battling this for a couple of years. I have purchased two of the standard size coated wire cages, hooked them together and seperate them when I need to . I have searched everywhere I can think of for the coated wire to build a larger cage and can't find it. I can not stand to see my gliders in what to me seems to be way to confining. So I have been contimplatin building a habitat from galvinized wire. So what is the deal and what are my options for building a bigger habitat. Buying more cages someone else builds will send me to the poor house.....
