I am going to have to disagree with the idea of keeping a glider alone, without another, as they are very social animals. I became a glider owner when a male showed up on my screen door one summer night. While he was quite stressed and scared, he eventually has accepted me as his friend, and as such, I made it my business to give him what he could not--another of his own kind.

I provided him with a partner, a female, within a month, and they now have two lovely joeys, a male and a female, recently oop.

I see nothing wrong with a responsible and well researched glider owner adding to the pleasure of all by adding another glider. Also, in my area, there are few gliders and many who would like them--my 2 joeys already have new homes to go to in a couple of months.

If, in your area there are alot of gliders needing new homes, rescues, that would be a wonderful way to provide a partner and mate for your baby.

The only qualifier would be responsibility, to the law, and to the gliders themselves, whether you are breeding for your own pets or to sell.

Good luck, mine have been a pleasure...L~~
