If your glider has been well handled since it came oop you should have no trouble at all bonding with it. I allow my babies to wean themselves. Once I see them eating and drinking well along side Mom and Dad, I then begin the weaning process. I like to keep them in a cage to themselves for a few days to make sure that they will continue to eat and drink well on their own. I have one glider that believe it or not weaned himself when he was but 4 weeks oop. He was huge when he was in pouch. He was a single joey. He was huge when he came oop. He out weighed a set of twins that were a month older than he is. I handled him daily and right now he spends his every waking moment begging me to take him out of his cage so that he can be with me. He is 12 weeks oop now and he visited with some people that came by today and they just could not believe how loving and social he really is. To top it off he is beginning to get his bald spot already. He could bond to a new family from day one. I adopted out a little girl today that is 7 weeks oop and she too is eating and drinking well on her own. I do not wean them but let them wean themselves. So yes you can adopt them younger than 12 weeks and have a loving baby, or you can get a young glider at 12 weeks that has been well handled and socialized and bond with them just as quickly.
