I definately have to agree with Cynthia on this...
My joeys are nibbling at the 'mush' (pureed adult diet) at about 4 weeks OOP - While they are still nursing. By the time they are 6 weeks OOP they are eating on their own and not activly nursing anymore...
BUT from there, I pull the baby to its own cage and monitor exactly what and how much it eats on its own. I keep track of this and that paper goes home with the glider when I feel it is independant enough for the new 'Mom/Dad' to handle - which is usually at 8 weeks OOP.
If I feel s/he needs another week or 2 - I keep them. Its done on an opinion basis...
I have not had any complaints or trouble with any joeys as of yet...
