I would take the cage to a car wash to clean it up. They have the high pressure hoses that can get most of the rust off. Then use a wire brush to scrub it and rinse well. To paint it, I use spray paint that is sold as safe for childrens toys. Just be sure you give it time to dry completely before putting your glider in the cage.

: I just bought a used cage for my little buddies and its huge but there is rust on it and the paint is gone in places. If you know can you please tell me what is a good safe paint that i can put on it. And what is a good thing to clean the cage up so it can be sterile and nice looking for my little girls.
