However I would like to caution you to watch the calcium/phosphorus ratio! Too much calcium can be just as fatal as too little. Most people know the first signs of too little calcium as being HLP, but few know what to watch for as in too much calcium. You must observe for the development of hard knot like growths under the skin. Then other things to watch for are increased heart rate, perhaps they are hanging onto the wire of the cage and their little hearts are beating a mile a minute and the cage almost seems to shake with it, just as you would a bed if you were having palpations. The last sign of hypercalcemia is seizure, then death. Please be careful and do watch for signs of hypercalcemia as well as hypocalcemia.
