: I have a big problem with my sugargliders nails. He rips me up. It looks like I've been attacked by Freddy Krueger.

:o) The fact that you would have to trim your gliders nails so often is a sign that you are feeding your glider a very good diet and that it is getting lots of good vitamins and such! To keep from having to trim them so often the pastel colored perches that you were told about are called Polly pastel perches and can be purchased in most pet shops for birds. Try getting the small ones. They are expensive but well worth the money and will last forever. Another thing that you can try is putting lots of wood objects into your gliders cage for it to climb around on, like the drift wood that can also be purchased in the pet shop or the manzanita branches. The manzanita branches come with washers and a bolt so that you can attach it to the outside of the cage and it is almost like petrified wood so it to will last a lifetime. The more they climb on wood objects the more they wear down their nails. I also use grape vines in one of my cages. This and nail clipping when needed should help some. Best of luck to you with keeping them trim.
