Subject: herniated/inverted marsupium Posted by Joe on December 26, 1999 at 22:57:34 from 136.152.159.114 I recently left for christmas for a few days and had my neighbor take care of my pair of female 1 year old s.g's. I raised them myself, and I've owned these and other gliders for three years now with no health complications, and there was nothing really different about what she was feeding them or anything. They have a quite sizable cage with toys, etc., so I don't usually feel to bad about not taking them out for a few days if necessary. When I returned, one of them was dead, and her marsupium was inverted completely out of her body. Since I wasn't around when she died, I'm not sure if it was a cause or effect (maybe her sister pulled it out post-mortem? Don't know). So I mostly wanted to report this as a condition that apparently occurs, and see if anyone else has seen it or knows anything about it. The only info I found was on the bottom of the health page at Ruth's glider site, which doesn't say all that much. Joe Morris
