Subject: Surprise Joey Posted by Pam on January 07, 19100 at 13:59:43 from 152.163.194.202
I got a female glider a few months ago to be a cage mate with a glider I did a rescue on. They seemed to be doing well together but something went terribly wrong and the new glider ended up with a horrible wound and they were seperated. Lola was being treated by a vet for her wound. I went to change her blanket in the morning, yesterday, and to my surprise saw a joey. I was in shock. I called the vet and he was in shock. Ok, we are both in shock. Now what do I do? It was never my intention to breed, that is why I have only female gliders and NO male ones. The joey looks quite large but the eyes are not open yet and it is quite weak on it's feet. I am open to all info. Mom is overly hungry and must be a good mom since the joey has made it this far? I did notice she left the joey in the bird house and she had gone to sleep in the cloth pouch, today. Is this a bad sign? I put her and the pouch in the bird house so the joey could get in with her. I will be most appreciative for any help. Thanks.
