Flying Squirrels are not related to gliders at all. Flying squirrels are rodents, gliders are marsupials and thier closest relatives are possums. Gliders and fliers have some very obvious differences, but the most important is the reproductive system. Now, as far as FS nutrition goes, that much I dont know. I've handled them but never owned one so I cant help there. Toys I would imagine would be maybe a few hamster and bird type toys and also something to chew on. Maybe even some branches in the cage, but might want to check if there are certain kinds they cant have.
