Allie,
I am in the exact same boat that you are in. I got my baby (who at this time is named Flea)exactly 2 weeks ago and I am now starting over with the entire bonding process. He was much sweeter when I first got him but all of a sudden just the sound of my voice made him crab. I was devistated because, like you, I want my baby to love me like I love him. He hated me (or still does). I was advised to read Bourbons web page about bonding and I learned that I was going about it all wrong. I took the nest box out of his cage and put the pouch in there which he now sleeps in. I also take my shirt off every morning and put it over his cage so that he gets use to my scent. I put yogurt or honey or peaches on my finger and put my finger just outside his pouch. He does fuss and when he bites my finger he gets a mouthful of treat. He then licks my fingers and even crawls on my hand. I have not taken him out of his cage in two days but I spend a total of 1 1/2 hours standing next to his cage bribing him with treats and talking to him. I plan to start carrying his pouch around soon but want to make sure he feels safe. Wish me luck and I will wish you luck. Keep in touch -via- this web site to let me know how you are doing.
Wendi
