: How to you feed crickets to your gliders without the risk of them running around in your room?? I heard some people freeze them to death and tried it once; when I got them out of the freezer there was a black fluid coming out of the insects and I did not want to feed them to my gliders.

I buy my crickets by the 1000. I freeze them for two reasons, first I do not want any to get loose in my house, 2nd because freezing them is the most humane way to kill them. I have never seen a black liquid substance in the frozen crickets.

: I also wondered if the process of freezing destroys important vitamins, minerals etc. - not only in crickets but also in fruits and the leadbeaters.

If it does, then I am not aware of it.

: I ask because one of my gliders has got a little bit of constipation and my vet says it could be because he eats an unbalanced diet. He gave me the tip to blend all food into a perfectly balanced mass before putting it into the cage.

Adding a bit more apple, or some apple juice, or the occasional raisin will also help to prevent constipation.
