They will even come out of hiding to laugh at you before going off to hide again. They also adore warm, soft, dark places. I remember having to turn the love seat onto it's back and take the dust cover off of it to get to one of my gliders. It is not that he doesn't like you it is just a game. I would fix the sofa to where he could not get into it if that is possible. That is just one more thing to glider proof.
