Alex, may just be a docile little boy, Too many times I hear people say, the cure for all problems is too get the glider a companion. However, it doesn't always take care opf the "problem". In fact, It realy doesn't sound as if he was depressed to begin with, think back when you first got him, and he seemed uneasy, that was maybe because he wasn't in a familiar surrounding, therefore; feeling uneasy, then he got comfortable, he adjusted well. but with a docile nature, (some call it shy), he may not want to do much. Then you got Lucy for him, again it was something new and different, who knows what was going through his head at that time, maybe he thought he was going to be replaced, but after being around now he has fallen back into his comfortable position.. By you shaking him up, it may be adding to it. Try just putting him in your pocket, while she plays. spend one on one time with him as you did before. DON'T MAKE him play with her.. I had Baybe first, she was so sweet and bonded by the time we got Smokey, that I was worried as well as many others usually are, that she would lose the bond she had with me, and I wouldn't be important in her life, but I needed to get Smokey for my hubby (those that have spouses some can understand), sure they played a little, but Baybe isn't really into him, as much as he is into her, she has no problem with spending time with me rather than Smokey, in fact I wake up, and she is waiting for me to open the cage, she goes to me with no prob, when it is time to go back, you can tell, she just wants to stay, however; she does have her days, those days, I allow her to do what she wants, and that means sometimes spending time with Smokey..You already know they each have their own personality, he just may be , as you said, "quiet natured".. Good Luck..
