Blantantly disregarding what they do in the wild?, these gliders that most have now are captive bred, yes they are social animals, but as kim said, there are too many downsides to owning 2 right off the bat, I believe too many people out there do buy 2 for the same reason kim stated, and thats because people tell them they HAVE to, or that "it's the best thing for their glider" or that "the glider wouldn't be happy until it had another of it's species." IN MY OPINION, this is a downright fallacy, some people are told that their gliders will improve in personalities. I have gliders, and I have a girl, that she was my first, after researching 6 months I decided to look, she chose us, for another 6 months we had her, and we didn't get a male for any of the reasons above, it was for personal reasons. Did she change because of him? NO, is she "HAPPIER", she is happy with me, she is fine with him, I watch them play, one goes one way, the other goes another, they have their own personalities, and their own likes and disslikes. But is SHE any better off with him? Not necessarily, we take trips often, I take her with me, when we get home it is smokey who is glad to see Baybe, she could care less. I do spend a lot of time with her, You can not generalize the personalities of all gliders, I know of someone here, and she may speak up, that told me, if she knew then what she knew now, she wouldn't have gotten a second glider for her male. She was bonded to him seriously.. Others here will tell you that their lone gliders can't be put with another. I have a friend who has bukoo cages because her gliders like being alpha gliders. I know of one that was bonded to it's owner, till she rescued more, he was NOT happy about that, turned very mean, he loved being "the only one, the "BOSS"", Too many people get 2 right off the bat, and have little to no idea, what to do with them, some and I must take my hat off to those, have to work harder, to learn and still keep them happy. TOO many others as Kim, had said, are abandoned.. this we see more often than not. I do have a page set up for the buying/selling of gliders, I did that in order to keep them separate. It gets frustrating , when it is so hard NOT to ask, WHY do you want to sell a glider, you have had for a year. When many times the excuses are really dumb, things that could have been avoided with a little research. I have to agree with kim on this one, and we don't agree often..LOL
