I have heard that some scented candles contain formeldehyde!(sp?). Therefore unless you know for sure exactly what's in them I woudln't suggest using them because of the possibilty of small amounts of toxins being released into the air when they are being burned. Much less would I ever let them chew on them(see below reply). They should be taken into consideration when gliderproofing a room. Just my thoughts on the subject but somethimg to keep in mind.
